Do you want some fun in the sun? Maybe you just want to try kayaking? Maybe you just loving any excuse to go for a paddle?
Well don’t just sit there join this activity and I’ll ask every one to arrange payment with me by direct deposit.
$25.00 a person.
Manly Cove is great area for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. Manly Cove provides some beautiful places to visit. It also has several swimming beaches as well as that ever important Coffee/Chocolate place. It is also a great place for beginners to find their kayaking legs, or should that be arms, in fairly safe area.
After kayaking to the Quarantine Station, for that important coffee / hot chocolate, it is on to a nearby beach to relax in the water, instead of on it. Then back to Manly Wharf.
After all that fun and sun we hand the kayaks to someone else to clean up as we head to the Corso Cafe for some much deserved dessert and/or coffee/chocolate and/or lunch and social wind down.
WHY
Really does this need to be answered. Well my answer would be because I can. What’s yours?
HOW
Have your own kayak?
No problems just be at the beach beside Manly Kayak Centre and join us when we move off. There is no cost to join this activity with your own kayak.
Don’t have you own kayak?
No problems. We will hiring some kayaks from Manly Kayaks. Manly Kayak Centre only rent the Sit-On-Top kayaks. Must prepay to secure your place on a kayak. There will be a mix of singles and doubles.
Please note that if you wish to bring friends that is fine but please send them this event description so that they know what to expect and don’t get a surprise when they arrive to join in.
WHERE and WHEN
Your host, me Omid will be at Max Brennen Chocolate from 10am onwards. Max Brenner Chocolate is located on the wharf just after you get of the ferry. We will be there until just after the 10.30 ferry arrives when we move around to Manly Kayak Hire, which is on the east side of the wharf.
This should give us enough time to sort out payments and get on the kayaks by the planned 10.45am start.
We will arrive back at midday, change into some dry clothes (as I don’t seem to stay dry) and then go to the Corso cafe for lunch and social wind down.
If it is raining we will remain at Max Brenner for half an hour or so and then move to the Manly wharf hotel for food.
WHAT TO WEAR/BRING
You will get wet so wear something you are not worried about getting wet. Also a change of clothes for afterwards is highly recommended. There are change rooms, with coldish showers, near the water works slides at the western end of the esplanade. These are open kayaks so you will need sun protection. I also highly recommend a water bottle, in case you get thirsty between stops. Also money to buy coffee/chocolate/lunch, don’t forget money is water proof.
If Manly Kayaks is renting then I would like to be paddling. Regardless of light rain or shine. The only time it becomes an issue is in storms, hailing and/or high winds but then Manly Kayak will not rent during those conditions.
